About the Role

Hannett Hale Recruitment is seeking an experienced KS2 Teacher for a full-time temporary position at a vibrant inner-city primary school in Preston. The role runs from September 2026 until Easter 2027 and offers the chance to work in a diverse, energetic environment with a high proportion of EAL and SEN pupils. The school provides strong leadership, collaborative team support, and a full-time teaching assistant in the classroom.

This position involves full class responsibility with opportunities to contribute to planning, assessment, and the wider school community. Staff development is prioritised through excellent guidance and a supportive culture. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full responsibility for a KS2 class, delivering engaging and high-quality teaching.
• Lead planning, preparation, and assessment activities.
• Work closely with and support the full-time teaching assistant in the classroom.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of EAL learners and pupils with SEN.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school community.

Requirements

Education

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.

Experience

• Recent experience teaching in a KS2 classroom.

Skills and Attributes

• Confidence supporting pupils with EAL and SEN.
• Strong classroom management and a proactive, flexible approach.
• Ability to take on the full responsibilities of a class teacher.
• Genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and progress.

Language

• Fluent English.

Licence/Certification

• Enhanced DBS check required.

Work Schedule

• Full-time temporary role from September 2026 to Easter 2027.
• Term time only, 8.30am–3.30pm.
