ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) 2027

The ETH Zurich Excellence Scholarship & Opportunity Programme (ESOP) supports outstanding master’s students with full study and living cost coverage. Applications for the autumn 2027 (HS27) intake open from 1 to 30 November 2026. Approximately 60 scholarships are planned, subject to funding.

What the Scholarship Covers

• CHF 13,500 per semester (from HS27) towards living and study expenses
• Full tuition fee waiver
• Duration of the regular master’s programme (normally three or four semesters)
• Mentorship and access to the ETH Foundation network

Eligibility

Open to excellent candidates applying for a master’s programme at ETH Zurich. You must have a very good bachelor’s result (top 10% of your class, self-assessed). Applicants who already hold a master’s degree or are already enrolled in a master’s at ETH are not eligible. A short pre-proposal for the master’s thesis is required, along with references where applicable.

How to Apply

Apply through the ETH eApply online master’s application portal during the first application window (1–30 November 2026, 11:59 CET). Upload the required pre-proposal and other documents with your admission application. Decisions are communicated by the end of March 2027.
