How to Check MTN Nigeria Price Changes Before You Buy a Bundle

MTN Nigeria prices change from time to time, and a change is not always obvious from the name of a bundle. Checking the current price before you buy can save you money.

In February 2025, TechEconomy reported that MTN Pulse call rates rose from ₦7.8 to ₦13.8 per minute and SMS rose from ₦4 to ₦6, after a 50 percent sector tariff increase approved by the Nigerian Communications Commission. The same month, MTN reversed a reported price rise on a 15GB data bundle.

Check the price in the app

Open the official MTN Nigeria app or website before you buy. The amount shown there is the current price. A bundle name you remember may now cost a different amount.

Compare the data size and the naira amount

A bigger number on the label does not always mean a better deal. Divide the naira price by the megabytes or gigabytes to see what you really pay for each unit of data.

Watch for reversals

Some price rises are reversed after customers complain. Check again a few days after a change before you decide whether to buy.

The price on the screen is the one you pay, so check it before you tap buy.
